Magnificent,
Dominating

August 28, 2004.
Vincente Padilla got his 5th win of the
2004 season in spectacular form as he held the Milwaukee Brewers scoreless
through 7 innings. This is Padilla’s first win in his last starts since
coming off the disable list earlier this month. Padilla got in trouble in
the fourth when he loaded the bases with two outs but got the next batter
to fly out to right, then again in the sixth on an error by David Bell but
got through that as well. Padilla worked 7 innings giving up five hits,
one walk and struck out five. Vicente was well pleased last night as he
dominated with command and for the first time in a long time the offense
did not turned their back on him. His record now stands (W, 5-6) and has
improved his era to 3.87
Marvin Benard
Bluefieldspulse recently caught up with Marvin Benard
In Syracuse, New York where he plays with the Syracuse Sky chiefs Triple A
affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. With the 2004 season almost over,
Marvin said he is looking forward to next year when he expect to be in
much healthier conditions. Benard has not been one hundred percent since
being signed by the Blue Jays from the International league in Atlantic
City where he was hitting pretty well prompting the Blue Jays to signed
him to a minor league contract. Benard stats:
